I hesitated posting my experience because I didn't want to ruin someone's business based on the fact that my day went wrong... but after seeing other people's reviews on Wedding who had similar experiences, I thought it was my responsibilty to warn future brides so that they will not make the mistake I did. Dannette was wonderful when I met her -I even invited her to stay at the wedding and bring a friend. . . we got along so nicely and she seemed to know every detail and understand everything. She even met a request for extra desserts and was excited to make our cake because she said it was her "favorite type" to make. The pricing for everything was such a good deal - and she said everything she used was ORGANIC from a farm up her street. It tasted amazing and I really felt I made a new friend. It seemed "to good to be true". She even offerred to refer me to a "friend" who was a florist and I took her up on it. I showed her pictures of exactly what I wanted and she said it was no problem.

About a week before the wedding she started sending me emails like she had no idea what to do - kept asking me to describe everything again... I got worried and sent her several details again and verified the exact flowers for my arrangement. I cared about 3 things the most- my dress, my flowers, and my cake. My mom went and picked them up from her home the day before the wedding, so Danette wouldn't have to drive out twice (big mistake!).

My mom arrived with HOT PINK flowers and my wedding was RED. Danette knew I asked for Deep Red roses with white Calalilies. She had the correct Red Ribbon for my cake (I gave her a fabric swatch). The calalilies were unopened (like white points curled up and the roses were TINY HOT PINK FLOWERS. She was supposed to use "fire and ice" (white with red veins) for the wedding party - and I got these 70's disco looking red roses with pink swirls on them. I was crying and upset, so I emailed her blackberry to ask if there was anything we could do last minute...no resonse. I called, and understood that there was little time- but I just wanted to know if she could help me. (Trust me, I'm not stupid enough to be rude about it when I know she's supposed to deliver my cake the next day. Last thing I wanted to do was piss her off!) All I wanted was a response (here I was supposed to be going to my wedding dinner and I'm trying to find wedding flowers the night before!) I stayed up til' 2am the night before my wedding, going to supermarkets and buying roses (that were the PERFECT COLOR - like she couldn't have done that?) and had to make my own bouquet and ordered a new boutineer (sp?) for my husband (She had given him a tiny HOT PINK rose). My bouquet was beautiful because I made it myself - she EASILY could have done that, and the bride could have been getting the rest she needed for her big day. However she is so VENDICTIVE and took it personally that the flowers were the wrong color, that she refused to respond.

Then I was worried she wouldn't show up to the wedding with my cake. I was wrong. She came extra early to avoid me and literally "threw together" a cake. My family (unbeknownst to me) hid me from the cake and asked me to stay outside and take more pictures. They had to completely redecorate it by putting extra roses on it and refrost it. SO UNPROFESSIONAL! She then STOLE the elevator key to the hotel and they came to us asking for it - saying we were responsible for our cake vendor. The "extra desserts" were melted chocolate messes that we couldn't even serve the guests. Everything she was responsible for was a complete disaster.

Danette is probably one of the MOST talented cake artists out there, that is why I chose her and paid for her. Everything she made when I met with her tasted and looked amazing - HOWEVER, she is "too good to be true" She's DISHONEST and CRAZY... just read the other posts! She obviously never brought our "promised" anniversary cake (as another man mentioned on Wedding Wire) and NEVER responded to any request about anything the day before or anytime after the wedding. She cares about MONEY and if she is having a bad day, she will take it out on you and your wedding day. I think she was determined to ruin my day. PLEASE STAY AWAY, there are many other talented cake artists that will be kind and help you enjoy every moment of getting married. Notice she responds to all of her positive posts saying the bride was "so beautiful" and she sounds like their best friend - signing "Dani". Yep, she will agree with everything and make you love her until she gets your money. She is mentally unstable, and the only mistake I made on my big day.

Danette - you could choose to ignore these responses or you can choose to do make a living by doing something you love while blessing others with your God-given talent. Please stop hurting people that trust you.
