Food was great - communicating was frustrating

I was stunned and shocked to read a bad review on New Leaf Catering. This company as a whole, went far above the call of duty when it came to everything for me. The owner went to numerous appointments with me regarding things other than food, and was there every step of the way. I couldn't have asked for ANYTHING better. Owner and Executive Chef Scott Robertson was a complete joy and gem to work with. Not only was he extremely fair and patient with me, but easy going, and very supportive. The execution at the wedding went off like the most incredible firework show I've seen. It was magical and so stress free thanks to New Leaf. Not only did he come very highly recommended from my venue, but once I met them, I knew why. It was a connection that I knew I was in good hands with. I felt so comfortable with Scott, that I even had him do the brunch the day after the wedding also. Once again, a superb job was done. I know for sure, that I will be using them for every catering event in the future. He was the only caterer I talked to, that found a way to work with me, not me working with them. All in all, Scott and the team are out of this world amazing!!! He is truly one of the most fair business men out there! I come from a family that owned a small business, and it's not every day that you meet someone else that is as fair and honest as my father, but I actually did meet someone. Scott Robertson is a true one of a kind Chef that I am glad and proud to know!

The food was the only good part of New Leaf Catering.

The caterer was the most stressful part of the wedding planning. It was hard to get him to finalize details and show up for appointments. The caterer’s assistant showed up 30 minutes before the actual wedding, the owner who we had hired was at a retreat. We had provided him, prior to the wedding, with everything for the bar. When they arrived all the mixers, water and a case of wine were missing. During dinner the guests were sharing knives and napkins. The bartender he hired was smoking, surly with guests and most of the time not even at the bar.

The owner contacted us when we got back from our honeymoon and apologized. He set up a meeting to return the wine and mixers and to discuss a reimbursement, his suggestion not ours. He never showed up and we haven’t heard from him since.. We picked up the wine at his restaurant “Just Soup” in Cathedral City, he was out of town. The stress he caused was completely due to his unprofessional behavior.
