Located in northern Emanuel county near Midville, Georgia, McKinney Pond is a 200-acre, spring-fed cypress pond and the site of the oldest man-made structure in Emanuel County. The long, low dam across the pond was in existence when the first white settlers came to Emanuel County seeking riches and adventure. The dam’s age has been estimated using the moss-covered trees growing on the dam, and is thought to be more than 300 years old. The Lower Creek Indians lived in the territory and some believe them to be the builders of the dam.
McKinney’s Pond is also the site of Emanuel County’s oldest and most famous restaurant, which shares the pond’s name. As casual as eating fish with your fingers, the McKinney's experience is about delicious food, southern hospitality and a relaxed moment in time with family and friends at "the Pond." Fulfill your palate and your soul with a memorable dining experience among the beautiful moss-covered trees of McKinney's Pond
