The biggest problem facing most brides, is that they usually only have a vague idea of what they want and where to get it, which is obviously a problem for all concerned. Brides don’t want to waste time going to the wrong florists and professional florists certainly don’t want to waste time on brides who are not really looking for what they have to offer. So the first step for a bride is to decide how much they want to spend on their wedding flowers. As with everything to do with a wedding, prices vary greatly. To understand why there is such a wide range of prices, it helps to appreciate the difference between off- the- peg or bridal packages and design- to –order couture wedding flowers. There are floral shops that have wedding packages that have been designed with the wedding co-coordinator at the bride’s chosen venue. They have set prices for every aspect of a wedding. This works very well for many florists and often goes hand in hand with the catering, photography, music companies and hotel or country club. Couture is where the wedding is designed to the customer’s own specification and, of course is more costly but at the same time is designed with the bride in mind. This is where the we come in to our own—we have the expertise, know the trends, and can advise the bride on what will suit her personality and dress.
